| Description | In 1981 the 3-year-old Gay Fathers of Toronto organization published the book Gay Fathers, thought to be the first book of its kind ever published. All of the authors were themselves gay fathers who were working through the conflicts of being gay, having children, and finding a way to live in a way that would be true to their desires and their responsibilities as fathers. It should be noted that references in the book to contact phone numbers and addresses are out of date. For most men the social risks today for gay fathers is much less than in 1981, The emotional fears and strains though often are still the same. This document is the book's Title Page, Table of Contents, and a commentary "Looking Back, Thirty Years Later" written in 2008. |
