“There's No Such Thing As A Diplomatic Hand Grenade”We are, as gay fathers, faced at one time or another with the dilemma of dealing with our spouses in the form of difficult conversations. Be it about coming out, access to our children or dividing up our assets, we are often desperate for a way out of the situation. Can we be possibly be so tactful that everything ends up fine?

With a foot in both the heterosexual and gay worlds, how do we fit in?

What are we looking for?

What do we expect?

Will we be disappointed with what we find?

We have all joined GFT because we have a common thread that binds us all together--we're all gay dads. We all have a family. By the same token, we all come together with differing values, roots, cultural eccentricities, interests and desires. More strongly, we all come together with differing levels of self- worth and acceptance of our gayness. I think that I can safely say that those of us who were at the February 22 GFT meeting lead by Don Malcho came away with a new sense of freedom and an improved level of self-worth.
